Qarin are a type of Jinn (Genies). They are a personal type, name literally meaning 'constant companion'. They have to be guided by a human, so they create a contract that he will be bound to. The cuffs on his legs are the bind, they will not allow him to break the contract with his human. Should he try, they will wrap him in chains until he gives up the thought of betrayal. Without an active contract, Sargon looses his power.

Sargon is about the size of a large Percheron Draft horse.

- Ability to disperse into smoke.

Jinn are said to be made from smokeless fire, created instead of the smoke. Being made this way give his species the ability to shape into something resembling fumes. In this form, he shall appear as wisps of black, or dark grey, smoke.

-Ability to sense if someone can be swayed to do evil.

Sargon is particularly interested in people who can be, as he makes a habit of trying to sway humans to sin. He cannot sense your emotions, or read your thoughts. All he can tell is if you are capable of doing evil and how much or how readily.

Sargon has about the same physical power as a Percheron Draft horse.

-Can grant wishes.

Sargon is a type of Jinn, also known in the west as a Genie. He can grant wishes, and if you are under his contract, he must grant it. There no limit on number of wishes, however he can not interfere with free will. He can not make someone fall in love, and he cannot grant anything that would break his own contract. Also, the bigger the wish, the more required energy. Some wishes may be too big for him to complete.
Also, be warned: Sargon does not enjoy granting wishes. He will take you very literally and slant your words, so be careful what you wish for.

Personality:
Sargon is not a nice guy. He's very passive aggressive and if you make him angry, he will go out of his way to make you miserable. He will often not even try to act happy, and he will speak bluntly and honestly. The only loyalty he holds is to the holder of his contract. If you are not that person, and if you are not under that contract in any way, shape, or form, he will not care a moment for you.

History:
Sargon was created in a smokeless fire. He does not know by who or why, though myths say it was God. However, he is not religious and decided he doesn't really care. Throughout his life, Sargon has gone from one person to another, exchanging contracts until it is completed, or until his holder dies. Many men became rich and spoiled because of him, and many died because of their arrogance and decrease in health. Some even died because of the wishes they made. Sargon holds no regrets for any of these men, however, and only seeks the power that comes with a contract, dealing with these greedy men only being a tiresome consequence. At least, most of them are not very smart.
Recently, his latest contract holder has released him and he was searching for another. Sargon had been considering offering his contract to a Mister Marten (Larita's father) when they had furiously begun researching. After coming to a find, the Academy at Lillegard Castle, Sargon decided that that might be the perfect place to find a new contract holder. After all, he had never had any contracts with non-humans, maybe it would make him even stronger. So, he traveled straight to the coast, where he gained passage to the Island through Hendry the boat man.
